Alex heard the knock and jumped slightly, his talk of the war had pulled him into a daze. Looking at Ian with slightly wide eyes he then softened them, “I missed you too….I love you Ian.” He kissed his mate softly. Then furrowing his brow, “Wait…you said three we know. Who was the third? Only two of my men died.”
Ian was laying on Alex side when he jumped, he would tell Hank to knock a bit softer for the next few weeks. The soft kiss was sweet but when he asked Ian looked confused and slowly sat up, “They didnt tell you….” Ian looked Alex in the eye and caressed his neck littered with love bites. “Alex… Sean was killed in action. A letter came last year.. with his things…It’s why Charles has been so… depressed.” His tone gentle but hones.
Alex nodded, “Yeah. Some were lucky and weren’t as obvious as the rest of us. But we got put together for one reason, to clear the path.” He said coldly. “No. Not all of us made it. Only five of us made it home. Two were killed in combat.” He replied in the same icy tone as his eyes locked on the ceiling and remained still.
Ian shook his head, rubbing Alex chest with a frown, “Thank means three mutants that we know of killed… that’s wrong… so wrong.” Shifting in bed the sheets sliding and hot, Alex was the best space heater. Ian leaned over and kissed Alex forehead. There was a knock at the door, Hank. He announced that he was ordering pizza before scurrying off. Hank knew Ian didnt eat meat -often- so he would order two just cheese or veggie pizzas. “I am glad your home Alex.”
Alex clenched his jaw, “Seven. There were seven of us that got captured.” His fist clenched and be stared at the ceiling with fury. “Didn’t know, didn’t care enough to notice. Its all the same thing….” he replied, “If we hadn’t used our abilities to get out none of us would have made it….”
The picture was coming in more clear now, “Basic training… you probably had to have a physical… your body temp I am sure is higher then most… so they found out. So they grouped you all together.” Ian nodded remembering how he was the odd man out in school for the very reason but… this was different. This was fucking life or death! “Did Mystique get you all out?” Hank and Charles had gotten whispers about mutants coming up missing here and there. Alex himself was abducted… for another reason entirely but still none the less.
"About a week later….we had to bide our time…." he muttered, "they didn’t even notice we were gone….days….and nobody knew." Alex seemed to be getting angrier the more he talked about it, though his face showed pain and disgust as he continued.
"Didn’t know?" Ian asked looking Alex in the eye confused and hoping he would go on how could a whole…"How many of you were captured?" A platen, a regiment… ugh. Ian couldn’t remember the names, he knew there were numbers… How could the army lose a whole group and NOT KNOW?! Unless… were they all mutants? Ian wondered.
